RAMALLAH, January 4, 2018 (WAFA) – The Detainees and Ex-detainees committee Thursday said that the Israeli parole board refused a request for early release by a Palestinian prisoner who suffers a sever case of cancer.
The committee’s attorney Kamel Natour said despite proving that the medical condition of prisoner Hussein Attallah is critical based on a report prepared by the Israeli prison administration, the request was denied under the pretext the prisoner poses a threat.
Natour said he plans to appeal the decision at the central court of Lod to challenge the board’s decision.
Attallah, 57, is from the Nablus refugee camp of Balata and suffers a severe case of cancer, which spread to his lungs, spine, liver, pancreas and brain. He has been diagnosed 8 months ago and his condition has been deteriorating since.
He is currently being hospitalized at the Soroka Medical Center and has six children and is sentenced to 32 years, and already served 21 years.
