Palestinian admitted to a Ramallah hospital with critical bullet shot to the head

RAMALLAH, January 4, 2018 (WAFA) – A Palestinian who was not immediately identified was admitted to surgery at Istishari Hospital in Ramallah on Thursday after he was shot and seriously injured by Israeli soldiers, according to the Ministry of Health.

Clashes broke out between residents of the Ramallah-area village of Deir Nitham and Israeli soldiers after the latter attacked the funeral of a young Palestinian who was shot dead by soldiers the day before, according to Ahmad Tamimi, head of Deir Nitham village council.

He told WAFA that the soldiers opened live fire at the young Palestinians who confronted them, hitting one in the head.

The Ministry of Health said one person seriously injured in Deir Nitham was admitted to Istishari Hospital in critical condition, without giving any more details.

The army had earlier closed the road to the village and prevented the funeral procession of Musab Tamimi, 17, from reaching it, prompting residents to clash with the soldiers who fired tear gas and stun grenades at the procession forcing participants of all ages to scramble for safety.
