Israeli warplanes strike targets in Gaza Strip, no injuries

GAZA, January 4, 2018 (WAFA) – Israeli warplanes carried out several sorties over the Gaza Strip on Wednesday night and Thursday morning, firing missiles at different targets and causing damage but no injuries, according to local reports.

Israeli artillery also joined in the attack, firing shells at locations in the south of the Gaza Strip, also without causing any injuries.

Witnesses said the airplanes and the artillery fired missiles and shells at agricultural land and a waste dump in Rafah, in the south of the Gaza Strip.

Shrapnel hit homes in the area causing damage and fire as well as panic among residents who had to take cover to avoid being hit.

The air and land attack came after four projectiles were fired from Gaza and landed in an open area inside Israel on Wednesday, according to Israeli army reports. No one was hurt and no damage was caused while it took the army several hours to try and locate the area where the projectiles had fallen.
