RAMALLAH, December 30, 2017 (WAFA) – A drop in temperature is expected for Saturday, which remains slightly above the median, said the Palestinian Metrological Department (PMD). However, weather conditions change on Monday, the start of the New Year, as cold air and rain are expected.
A slight chance of scattered rain is expected on most areas of Palestine on Saturday with northwesterly to southwesterly winds, light to moderate but active at times and sea waves are medium height.
Temperature on Saturday is expected to be in the middle to upper teens during the day in most of the West Bank and Gaza, with the exception of Jericho and the Jordan Valley where temperature is expected to be in the lower 20s. Cold weather prevails at night with temperature in the central Palestinian cities dropping to around 6 or 7 degrees Celsius, while it reaches the lower teens in the northern, coastal and Jordan Valley areas.
Sunday’s weather is partially cloudy to clear and another slight drop in temperature to become around its annual average.
However, a cold front is expected to reach Palestine on Monday, the start of the New Year, as temperature drops and scattered rain falls on all areas accompanied by gusty wind and wavy sea. People are warned of possible flooding in the valleys and low areas and strong winds as well as formation of fog and low clouds.
Tuesday’s weather is cloudy but a slight rise in temperature is expected accompanied by scattered rain on most of Palestine.
