GDP at constant prices up by 5% in Q3, says statistics bureau

 

RAMALLAH, December 28, 2017 (WAFA) - Preliminary estimates at constant prices showed an increase of 5% in GDP in Palestine during third quarter 2017 compared to third quarter 2016, the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) said on Thursday.

The GDP increased by 6.9% in the West Bank and reached $2658.5 million, while it decreased by 0.6% in Gaza Strip and reached $843.8 million compared to the third quarter 2016.

When compared to second quarter 2017, the GDP showed an increase of 3.1%.

GDP per capita for Palestine at constant prices was $745.6 during third quarter 2017. It showed an increase of 1.9% compared to third quarter 2016.

As for the West Bank, it was $968.1 at constant prices, an increase by 4.6% compared to third quarter 2016, while for Gaza Strip it was $432.4 during the same period, a decrease by 4.7%.
