RAMALLAH, December 26, 2017 (WAFA) – Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails Tuesday started a protest campaign after an extremist Israeli lawmaker Monday verbally assaulted their families who were visiting them.
The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) said the retaliation measures included the returning of meals and refusing to stand in line for the daily prisoners‘ count.
Oron Hazan, a known fanatic member of the Israeli parliament, got on a Red Cross bus carrying the prisoners‘ families and verbally attacked them and used degrading language to insult their detained sons and attacked some of them.
Twenty two people, including four children, were on their way to visit their sons in Damon prison when Hazan got on the bus and attacked them.
The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor, International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and the Palestinian Authority condemned Hazan‘s assault on the Palestinian families.
