Decrease in construction and road cost index for November

 

RAMALLAH, December 26, 2017 (WAFA) – A slight decrease of 0.01% in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) in the West Bank for residential buildings was recorded in November compared with October, the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) said on Tuesday.

The decrease was due to drop in rental of equipment by 0.26%, while prices of raw materials and labor wages remained stable during November compared with the previous month.

CCI for non-residential buildings also decreased by 0.04% in the West Bank during November due to the decrease in rental of equipment by 0.22% and the prices of raw materials by 0.05%. At the same time, labor wages remained stable.

CCI for skeleton buildings decreased as well by 0.01% in the West Bank due to the decrease in rental of equipment by 0.05% and the prices of raw materials by 0.01%. At the same time, labor wages remained stable.

The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) decreased by 0.34% in the West Bank during November compared with October due to the decrease in the  prices of raw materials by 0.56%, operating costs of equipment and maintenance by 0.15% and rental of equipment by 0.07%. At the same time, labor wages remained stable during November.

The overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) decreased by  0.10% in the West Bank during November compared with October, Water Reservoirs Cost Index also decreased by 0.30% and Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) decreased by 0.10%, said the PCBS.
