Israeli forces shut down entrance to Nablus village

NABLUS, December 24, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Sunday shut down the entrance to the village of al-Lubban el-Sharqia, to the south of Nablus in the West Bank, barring entry to and exit from the village, according to local sources.

WAFA correspondent said the Israeli army shut down the entrance to the village with a metal gate and cement cubes, forcing residents to use unpaved bypass roads to enter or leave the village.

The army shut down the same entrance road on Friday and reopened it later, said a spokesperson from the Civil Affairs Authority.

Israeli authorities have also intensified closure of roads in many areas of the occupied West Bank, in the aftermath of the unrest that followed US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital on December 6.
