BETHLEHEM, December 24, 2017 (WAFA) – Rula Maaya, minister of tourism and antiquities Sunday said by the end of 2017 the number of tourists who visited Palestine will reach 2.7 million tourists and pilgrims, an increase by %15 - %18 compared to 2016.
She told WAFA that of the 2.7 million tourists visiting Palestine in 2017, 1.1 million stayed in hotels in Palestine, an increase by %25. “On Christmas Eve, 10,000 tourists and pilgrims will occupy hotel rooms in Palestine.”
Maaya said the year of 2017 is the year of Palestinian tourism despite the difficult situations that Palestinians have been going through and 2018 is expected to witness a further revival in tourism.
