Palestinian injured during clashes in Gaza last week dies of wounds

 

GAZA, December 23, 2017 (WAFA) – A 28-year-old Palestinian who was injured in clashes with Israeli soldiers at the Gaza border last week died on Saturday of his wounds, according the Ministry of Health.

It said Sharif Shalash, from Jabaliya, was admitted to hospital on Sunday after he was seriously injured from a live bullet wound to the stomach during clashes with Israeli soldiers.

Shalash remained in critical condition until he was pronounced dead early Saturday.

Shalash’s death brings to nine the number of Palestinians killed in the Gaza Strip and West Bank during three weeks of protests against the US declaration of Jerusalem as capital of Israel on December 6 - seven in the Gaza Strip, including two shot dead in the Friday border protests, and two in the West Bank, including one killed after stabbing a soldier near Ramallah.

Four others were also killed in Gaza during the same period in Israeli air strikes.
