Injuries reported during clashes near Joseph’s Tomb in Nablus

 

NABLUS, December 20, 2017 (WAFA) – Nine Palestinians were injured on Wednesday during clashes that broke out following an attempt by Jewish settlers protected by soldiers to reach Joseph’s Tomb in the northern West Bank city of Nablus, Palestinian security sources said.

They told WAFA that hundreds of settlers reached Joseph’s Tomb under the protection of Israeli forces.

Residents in the area clashed with them and soldiers used live and rubber bullets and tear gas to disperse the Palestinians causing one injury form live bullet, right from rubber bullets and several suffered from tear gas inhalation, according to Ahmad Jibril, director of the Red Crescent in Nablus.

Jewish settlers regularly go to Joseph’s Tomb under heavy army protection where they hold religious rituals and often they clash with local Palestinian residents.
