RAMALLAH, December 19, 2017 (WAFA) – Dozens of students suffered from tear gas inhalation on Tuesday after Israeli forces attacked a school with teargas in the village of Deir Nizam, to the northwest of Ramallah, according to local sources.
Ahmad Tamimi, head of Deir Nizam village council, told WAFA that Israeli soldiers fired tear gas at the village’s school, causing multiple cases of suffocation among the students from teargas inhalation.
He said Israeli forces conduct similar assaults on the village’s school almost on a daily basis.
In the meantime, clashes erupted at Atara checkpoint, to the north of Ramallah, between Israeli soldiers manning a checkpoint and Palestinians who were protesting against US President Donald Trump’s recent decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. There were no reports of injuries, however.
