JERUSALEM, November 1, 2017 (WAFA) -  The Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano welcomed the return of Gaza border crossings to the full control of the Palestinian Authority, said a statement issued Wednesday by the Consulate General of Italy in Jerusalem.

“It is the first concrete step towards the reinstatement of the government of the Authority lead by President Abbas over the Gaza Strip, as well as a meaningful development also in the prospect of the resumption of the Israeli-Palestinian negotiations,” said the Italian minister.

He affirmed Italy’s support to the return of the PA to Gaza in its full governmental capacities, including in the security sector.
