RAMALLAH, June 22, 2017 (WAFA) – Preliminary estimates at constant prices showed an increase of 0.7% in Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Palestine during the 1^st quarter 2017 compared to the 1^st quarter 2016, according to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).

PCBS said GDP increased increase by 0.8% in the West Bank and by 0.4% in the Gaza Strip, compared to the 1^st quarter 2016. 

GDP also showed a stability in Palestine compared to the 4^th quarter 2016 at constant prices, with a slight increase of 0.1% (base year = 2004). 

GDP for the 1^st quarter 2017 at constant prices was $1,505.8 million for the West Bank and $493.4 million for Gaza Strip.

GDP Per Capita

GDP per Capita for Palestine at constant prices was  $431.6 during the 1^st quarter 2017., and showed a decrease of 2.1% compared to the 1^st quarter 2016.

GDP per Capita in the West Bank was $555.2 at constant prices during the 1^st quarter 2017, and showed a decrease by 1.7% during the 1^st quarter 2017 compared to the 1^st quarter 2016. In the Gaza Strip, GDP per Capita was $257.0 during the 1^st quarter 2017, and showed a decrease by 2.8% during the 1^st quarter 2017 compared to the 1^st quarter 2016.
