CARACAS, February 25, 2017 (WAFA) – Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro Saturday reiterated his country’s long standing support for the Palestinian cause in all international forums, stressing that this was the policy of the former leader of the South American country, Hugo Shavez.

Maduro’s statement came during a meeting in Caracas with Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad Malki, who is on an official visit to that country.

Malki handed Maduro a letter from President Mahmoud Abbas thanking him for Venezuela’s firm support for the Palestinian cause in all international arenas, particularly Venezuela’s co-sponsoring of United Nations Security Council resolution 2334, passed in December and which condemned Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The Foreign Minister briefed Maduro on the latest developments in Palestine and discussed as well strengthening bilateral relations on all levels.
