Israeli forces demolish water pipeline in northern Jordan valley

JORDAN VALLEY, February 20, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli bulldozers Monday demolished a water pipeline used for transferring drinking water in the northern Jordan valleys, said Moataz Bsharat, Tubas and Jordan valleys affairs monitor.

He told WAFA that Israeli bulldozers demolished the water pipeline that connects the village of Atoof and Khirbet al-Hadidya, for the second time since the beginning of the year.

Bsharat noted that the water pipelines demolished by Israel are used for drinking purposes by almost 47 families living in the area of al-Hadidya, Ras al-Ahmar and Hemsa al-Foqa. By demolishing their only water source, Israel is depriving those families from accessing drinkable water.

Israeli forces occasionally demolish water pipelines in the Jordan valleys, depriving many Palestinian families living there from having access to drinking water. In January 2017, a water pipeline used to transport water to Palestinians families in Ras al-Ahmar and al-Hadidya was demolished by Israeli bulldozers.
