Weather forecast: Considerably cloudy, mostly chilly skies to prevail

RAMALLAH, February 14, 2017 (WAFA) – Weather on Thursday is considerably cloudy and mostly chilly and temperatures are set to drop and approach five degrees Celsius lower than the annual average, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Rain showers with thunderstorms and occasional hail are expected on most areas. Wind is southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate, active at times. Sea waves are low.

Weather on Wednesday remains partially cloudy to cloudy and mostly chilly. Temperature is expected to further drop and approach six degrees Celsius lower than its seasonal average. Rain is also expected to fall on most areas with thunderstorms and occasional hail.

Cloudy and very chilly skies are set to prevail on Thursday. Another drop in temperature is set to approach eight degrees Celsius lower than its annual average. Rain is expected on most areas with thunderstorms and occasional hail. A chance of snowfall is expected on mountains above 1000 meters above sea level.

Cloudy to partially cloudy and very chilly skies are set to prevail on Friday with rain showers and occasional thunderstorms and hail. Temperatures are set to rise by two degrees Celsius. A chance of snowfall is expected on mountains 1000 meters above sea level.

The low pressure which has affected the country since Sunday begins to withdraw in the early morning hours of Friday.

The PMD warned citizens against low horizontal visibility due to fog and low clouds and the formation of floods in low areas as well as gusty winds.
