HEBRON, February 12, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Sunday detained three Palestinians, including a minor, during military raids into Hebron and Bethlehem, according to a local activist.
Armed military forces stormed Beit Ummar town to the north of Hebron, broke into homes and detained a 14 year-old boy who was identified as Kamel Abu Mariya.
The activist said forces also raided and searched the family home of Omar al-Za’aqeeq, 18, who was shot dead by Israeli forces late November 2016, after allegedly ramming his car into Israeli soldiers, injuring six.
Soldiers reportedly forced all family members to stay in one room and photographed them, their identification cards as well as the car of Omar’s father. They took the family‘s phone numbers and seized Omar’s photos and belongings.
In Bethlehem, Israeli forces detained two Palestinians aged 20 and 21 after raiding and searching their family homes in the town of Taqou’ to the east.
A security source said the military raid sparked clashes with locals, where Israeli soldiers used rubber-coated steel bullets, tear gas canisters, and stun grenades. However, no injuries were reported.
