President Abbas holds talks with Belgian premier, discusses land grab law

BRUSSELS, February 9, 2017 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas Thursday held talks with Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel and briefed him on Israel’s so-called “Regularization Law” and other Israeli measures in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The meeting discussed the latest developments with regards to the Palestinian question and Israeli violations against the Palestinian people, land and holy places, the latest of which was the Israeli parliament’s approval of the Regularization Law that retroactively legalizes the expropriation by settlers of private Palestinian land across the West Bank.

Abbas and Michel also discussed the repercussions of the possibility of the US moving its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, slamming this move as a violation of international law.

Michel visited Palestine and Israel earlier this week where he met with Palestinian and Israeli officials but not President Abbas who was on an official visit to France.
