Israeli navy fires at fishermen, farmlands in Gaza

GAZA, February 7, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli forces opened fire at farmland in Beit Hanoun, north of the Gaza Strip and targeted Palestinian fishermen offshore Gaza, local sources said on Tuesday.

Sources said that Israeli forces, stationed at the Gaza-Israeli borderline, opened fire at agricultural lands in the vicinity of the Israeli Erez border crossing. There no reports of casualties.

While Israeli fighter jets were intensively flying over the Gaza Strip, Israeli navy opened fire at Palestinian fishermen and their fishing boats that were sailing within four nautical miles offshore Gaza..

Israeli air forces fired missiles at open areas west of Gaza, east of Jabalia and north of Beit Lahia, while tanks fired more than five shells at sites in the central and northern Gaza strip, causing one human injury and damages to people’s properties.

Israel says the attacks came in response to the firing of one shell from Gaza at southern Israel without causing any damage or injury.
