RAMALLAH, February 6, 2017 (WAFA) – The Central Elections Commission (CEC) published on Monday the timeline for the local elections set by the government for May 13.
According to the timeline, nominations of candidates will start on March 28 for 10 days and a preliminary list of the names will be published on April 9.
However, the final official list, after objections and appeals are heard by the election court, will be published on April 29.
Immediately after, electoral campaign will start for 13 days and ends on Thursday night, May 11, two days before polling stations open in all local councils.
Initial results will be announced the day after the polling stations close, according to the timeline.
