Israeli military stops work on an EU-funded road in Jordan Valley

JORDAN VALLEY, February 6, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli soldiers Monday stopped work on a European Union-funded road in the northern Jordan Valley and confiscated a vehicle and three drills workers were using to open the road, according to local sources.

Muataz Bsharat, who monitors Israeli violations in the area, told WAFA Israeli soldiers stopped work on a European Union-funded project to open a road connecting the villages of Bardala and Kherbit Ibzeeq, east of Tubas, and confiscated three drills the workers were using and a vehicle.

Israeli forces have carried out demolitions and confiscations in the Jordan Valley on at least four other occasions since the beginning of 2017 – including homes, a school, water pipelines, and tractors.
