RAMALLAH, February 2 , 2017 (WAFA) – The official Anti-Wall and Anti-Settlements Commission said in a new report published Thursday that Israel has approved the construction of 2500 housing units in settlements in the occupied West Bank during last month.
It said 900 units will be in Ariel, 90 in Maale Adumim, 21 in Efrat, 18 in Elkana, 166 in Emmanuel, 86 in Migron, 150 in Oranit, 100 in Givat Ze’ev, 153 in East Jerusalem and 560 in Ramot and Ramat Shlomo.
It said plans are underway to build 390 new units in the Shufat area distributed into 170 in Ramot Shlomo and 220 in Ramot, in addition to building a synagogue and kindergarten in the same area.
Israeli settlers also began building a new settlement outpost on Palestinian territory in Ras al-Ain area, east of the village of Deir al-Hatab to the east of Nablus, hundreds of meters away from the settlement of Alon Moreh. In addition, settlers built housing units in different areas.
A group of settlers from El Ad settlement group also seized a house and a shop owned by the Sub Laban family located in Wadi al-Rababa in Silwan, an East Jerusalem neighborhood.
The report also said the Israeli occupation forces continued to target Palestinians leading to the death of seven and injury of 27, while arresting 362.
Also, Israeli settlers’ attacks led to wounding seven Palestinians, including five-year-old Lian al-Razem from Hebron, and destroying 15 cars on the road between Ramallah and Nablus.
Moreover, it documented demolition of 144 buildings during January in different areas of the West Bank and in East Jerusalem where 47 houses and structures were demolished along with 58 in Nablus, 18 in teh Jordan Valley and 18 in Bethlehem.
