Israeli navy opens fire at Gaza fishermen, detains two

GAZA, January 16, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli navy opened fire on Monday at Palestinian fishing boats and arrested two fishermen while sailing off the Gaza shore, according to fishermen.

They said the navy attacked several fishing boats while sailing at around four nautical miles from Gaza’s shore. The navy chased the boats and opened fire at them, causing damages to at least one boat before arresting two fishermen.

There were no reports of causalities.

Israeli navy targets Gaza fishermen almost daily, which makes it difficult for them to go fishing in order to make a living.
