Abbas discusses developments with Norwegian foreign minister

AMMAN, January 11, 2017 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas discussed Wednesday the latest developments in the area with Norwegian Foreign Minister Borge Brende in the Jordanian capital, Amman.

Abbas briefed the Norwegian official on developments in the Palestinian issue as well as the region and discussed with him the international peace conference that will be held in Paris on January 15.

After the meeting, Brende travelled to Palestine for meetings with Palestinian officials, including a meeting with Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah on Thursday.

The meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Riyad Malki, the president’s spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh and diplomatic affairs advisor Majdi al-Khalidi.

President Abbas is scheduled to visit the Vatican and meet Pope Francis on Saturday before flying to Paris to meet his French counterpart Francois Hollande to discuss the peace conference.
