Israeli army detains 20 Palestinians in West Bank raids

RAMALLAH, January 9, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Monday detained 20 Palestinians during wide-scale raids and inspection operations in several cities in the occupied West Bank, according to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS.)

Soldiers detained eight Palestinians from the city of Jerusalem, one of whom is Shadia al-Qunbor, the sister of Fadi al-Qunbor, who Sunday rammed a truck into the sidewalk in Armon Hanatziv, an Israeli settlement neighborhood south of East Jerusalem, killing four soldiers and leaving 15 injured.

PPS said Israeli forces detained three Palestinians from Jenin and another three from Bethlehem, one of whom is a minor.

Soldiers also arrested two from al-Aroob refugee camp in Hebron, two from Ramallah, and another two from the town of al-Jeftlek in Jericho, including a 17-year-old identified as Omar Duibis.

PPS said that Israel has detained at least 100 Palestinians since the beginning of 2017, including several women and minors.
