Construction Cost Index Up in May 2016

RAMALLAH, June 26, 2016 (WAFA) - The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Residential buildings reached 102.60 with an increase of 0.96% in the West Bank during May 2016 compared to April 2016, said a report issued by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) on Sunday.

It said the CCI has rose due to an increase in the prices of raw materials by 1.54%, and rental of equipments by 0.61%, whereas labor wages remained stable during May 2016 compared to the previous month.

Meanwhile, CCI for non-residential buildings reached 102.75 with an increase of 0.96% in the West Bank during the same period.

It rose due to an increase in the prices of raw materials by 1.48%, and rental of equipments by 0.60%. Labor wages remained stable.

As for CCI for skeleton buildings, it reached 101.86 with an increase of 2.06% in the West Bank during May 2016 compared to the previous month. It rose due to an increase in prices of raw materials and rental of equipments by 3.11%, and by 0.42%, respectively.  Labor wages remained stable.

The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) reached 107.97 with an increase of 0.68% in the West Bank during May 2016 compared to April 2016.

It rose due to an increase in the prices of raw materials, and operating costs of equipment and maintenance by 1.20%, and by 0.90%, respectively. Meanwhile, rental of equipments decreased by 0.27%, whereas labor wages remained stable during the same period.

Meanwhile, the overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) reached 111.89 with an increase of 1.18% in the West Bank during the same period. In the meantime, Water Reservoirs Cost Index reached 107.11 with an increase of 0.40% during the same period.

As for the overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI), it reached 107.62 with an increase of 0.61% in the West Bank during the same period.
