BETHLEHEM, June 23, 2016 (WAFA) – Israeli soldiers Thursday battered two Palestinians, causing them fractures and bruises to the near al-Khas and al-Nu‘man village, northeast of Bethlehem, said security sources.
Israeli soldiers chased and caught Muhammad Radayda, 22, and Jehad Radayda, 21, who come from al-Ubeidiya town, east of Bethlehem, purportedly for attempting to enter Jerusalem for work without obtaining entry permits.
Soldiers caught the Radaydas in Abu al-Hummus valley, north of al-Khas and al-Nu‘man village, and battered them with clubs and gun butts, causing bruises and fractures throughout their bodies.
The Radaydas were evacuated to a Beit Jala hospital, where medics described their condition as moderate.
In order for Palestinians to work in Israel, they need to obtain work permits usually granted by the so-called Israeli Civil Administration in coordination with the Israeli Labor Ministry, but such permits are difficult to obtain.
Tens of thousands of Palestinian workers are forced to earn a living by working in Israel as the growth of the Palestinian economy has been stifled in the West Bank under the ongoing Israeli military occupation.
