QALQILIA, June 15, 2016 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Wednesday detained 11 Palestinians, mostly during predawn raids into a number of West Bank districts, said security sources and locals.
Four Palestinians were detained from Qalqilia, two from Nablus, another from Jenin, another from Jerusalem and three from Bethlehem district .
Forces raided the northern West Bank city of Qalqilia and detained four Palestinians after storming and ransacking their family houses, sparking clashes with locals.
The detainees were identified as ‘Ala Helal, Belal Hannun, Mohammad Daoud and Munther Nofal.
During the raid, forces fired tear gas canisters and stun grenades. No injuries were reported.
In Nablus district, forces raided Askar refugee camp, east of Nablus city, where they handcuffed and detained Muntaser Sbeih and thoroughly searched the family house of Raed al-Nadi.
Another Palestinian was detained during a raid into Kafr Qalil, southeast of Nablus city. He was identified as Yusef Abdul-Ghani.
In Jenin district, Israeli troops handcuffed and detained Wednesday afternoon Abdul-Rahman Abu-‘Arab, 20, at a flying checkpoint south of the city.
Troops also broke into the family house of Ahmad Nawasra, an ex-detainee, seeking to re-detain him, in Fahma village, south of Jenin city.
During the raid, troops wreaked havoc into the house furniture and interrogated the family members.
Large troops also reportedly deployed and conducted an extensive searching campaign in the eastern mountainous area of Jaba‘ town, south of Jenin. No detentions were reported though.
In Jerusalem district, an Israeli force detained a Palestinian and stormed several houses during a dawn raid into al-Eizariya town, southeast of Jerusalem.
The detainee was identified as Majd al-Wazni.
Large troops also raided Anata town, northeast of Jerusalem, ransacking several houses. No detentions were reported though.
To the south of Jerusalem, in Bethlehem district, forces detained Ahmad Taqatqa, 19, during a predawn raid into Beit Fajjar, south of Bethlehem city.
Separately, a Palestinian woman was detained as she was heading to visit her son, who is in Israeli custody.
Fawz Awwad, 42, was detained after she was ordered to step out of a bus at a military checkpoint near al-Jab‘a village, southwest of Bethlehem.
This came several hours after another Palestinian was detained after being ordered to step out of a Palestinian-registered vehicle at a military checkpoint at the entrance of Tuqu‘ town, east of Bethlehem.
The detainee was identified as Mousa Sa‘id from the Jenin refugee camp in the northern West Bank.
