JERUSALEM, October 19, 2015 (WAFA) – Israeli forces overnight
detained 42 Palestinians, including eight children, and summoned six others
from various West Bank districts, said local security, municipal sources and a
human rights institution.
Israeli forces detained 12 Palestinians, including four children after
breaking into and ransacking their houses across Jerusalem.
Wadi Hilweh Information Center said, police raided a house
belonging to ‘Abdul-Salam Abu Ghazaleh in the Old City of Jerusalem and
detained the homeowner.
Police also detained six other Palestinians after breaking into and
searching their families’ houses in Jerusalem’s villages of Silwan and Sur
Baher.
The detainees were identified by Muhammad Mahmoud, an attorney
representing Palestinian human rights institution Addameer, as Muhammad Dwayat,
Nout ‘Amireh, Mu‘taz Dabash, Muhammad Gheith, Fadi ‘Abbasi and Mu‘taz Siori.
Five other Palestinian children were detained from Jerusalem’s town
of Wilwan. The detainees were identified as Muhammad, 11, Zamzam, 12, and
Khalil Ash-Shwaiki, 14, Mahmoud at-Talhami, 11, and Rami al-Fakhouri.
Meanwhile in Jenin district, police detained 11 Palestinians in
Israel.
According to Palestinian security sources, police raided two
buildings under construction in Nazareth and Umm al-Fahem, where they proceeded
to detain 11 Palestinian workers from the Jenin village of Silat al-Harithiya,
purportedly for working without having permits.
In the meantime in Bethlehem, Israeli forces stormed Tuqu town,
southeast of the city, where they proceeded to detain six Palestinians,
including four children.
The detainees were identified by Head of Tuqu Village Council
Taysir Abu Mafreh as Mu’min, 15, Mu’ayyad, 14, Mousa, 14, Muhammad, 21, and
Habis al-‘Amur, 50, as well as Khalil Abu Mafreh, 15.
In the meantime in Ramallah district, forces stormed Nabi Saleh
village, north of the city, where they broke into several houses, smashing
their entrances and wrecking havoc into them.
During the predawn raid, forces detained six members of al-Tamimi
family. They were identified as ‘Anan, Wa‘ed, Mustafa, Usaid, Lo’ai and Omar.
Furthermore in Hebron district, forces detained five Palestinians
and summoned two others.
Forces reportedly raided a Hebron neighborhood and proceeded to
detain three Palestinians identified as Ahmad al-Yamani, Mu’min al-Haddad and
Tareq al-Karaki, 19, after breaking into and ransacking their houses.
Forces also raided Tarqumiya and Dura towns, northwest and west of
the city, where they summoned two Palestinians.
Mahmoud al-Maraqtan and Yousef Abu Sheikha were both handed notices
ordering them to appear before Israeli intelligence.
Furthermore, soldiers stationed on Allenby border crossing, also
known as al-Karama, between Jordan and the West Bank, detained a Palestinian
woman and her son while they were travelling back to their hometown of Beit
Ummar, north to Hebron.
Anti-settlement and wall activist Mohammad ‘Awad identified them as
Ra’isa Abu ‘Ayyash, 51, and her son, ‘Amr, 21.
This came several hours after another Palestinian was detained
Sunday evening from the Hebron locality of Be’ir al-Mahjar. The detainee was
identified as Yahya An-Natsha.
Forces also raided several other Hebron neighborhoods, where they
ransacked a house belonging to Tareq An-Natsha. They set up roadblocks at the
entrances of Sa‘ir and Halhul towns as well as at the northern entrance of the
city, where they stopped and examined Palestinian registered vehicles
travelling into and outside of the towns and inspected passengers’
identification cards.
Meanwhile in Qalqilya city in the northern West Bank, forces broke
into and ransacked several houses and detained two Palestinians during a
predawn raid. The detainees were identified as Taysir Abu Dayyeh, 18, and
Mohammad Zahran, 32.
Furthermore in Nablus city, four Palestinians were summoned during
clashes with Israeli forces.
Muhammad and ‘Abdullah Hanani, both coming from the Nablus village
of Beit Furik, as well as Harbi and ahmad Abu Jaish, both coming from the
Nablus village of Beit Dajan, were handed notices summoning them to appear
before Israeli intelligence.
