JERUSALEM, October 14, 2015 (WAFA) – Israeli police Wednesday carried out another extrajudicial killing against a young Palestinian man in Ras al-Amoud area in Jerusalem.
A press statement which the Israeli police published claimed 20-year-old Basil Basim Sidr attempted to stab an Israeli settlers. However, eyewitnesses affirmed Israeli police shot Sidr with 10 bullets from a close range without any proof that he was indeed attempting to stab anyone.
The body of Sidr remained sprawled on the street while Israeli police prevented journalists from approaching the area.
Israeli police continues to claim that Palestinian youth are attempting to carry out stabbing attacks, without providing evidence. Palestinians are not even given a chance to defend themselves by being arrested and referred to trial.
On October 9, three Palestinian construction workers and one West Bank Bedouin were stabbed Friday morning in the southern city of Dimona by an Israeli assailant. The suspected attacker was arrested on the scene, according to Israeli media.
The four injured Palestinians suffered slight and moderate
injuries in the attack, the sources added. Israeli police claimed that an
investigation has been opened into the attack.
While the Israeli attacker was arrested, Israel treats Palestinians in a different way; Palestinians who are suspected of carrying out attacks or who Israeli settlers claim have tried to attack them are instantly killed on the scene.
