RAMALLAH,
August 6, 2014 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Arabic dailies highlighted in their
Wednesday issue the continuing ceasefire in Gaza, amid expectations that Israel
would meet four Palestinian demands for a fixed and long-term ceasefire.
Following
are the main headlines:
Al-Ayyam:
-[People of] Gaza
inspect the debris of destroyed homes and recover the bodies of ‘martyrs.’
-Initial statistics
of the [Israeli] aggression [on Gaza]: 1881 martyrs, including 430 children,
243 women and 70 elderly.
-Israel withdraws its
troops from Gaza as ceasefire continues.
-Israeli estimates:
some attack tunnels still exist in Gaza.
-An Israeli
delegation leaves Cairo after discussing a ceasefire agreement.
-Washington will ‘likely’
take part in Cairo negotiations.
