May 26, 2014 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic dailies focused in their
Monday issue on Pope Francis’ visit to Palestine and his prayers in front of
the segregation wall.
Al-Quds:
· Pope in the holy land on a historic visit, His Holiness Pope
Francis performed prayers in front of the segregation wall, and received the
key of return from the children of Aida refugee camp.
· [Minister of Prisoners’ Affairs] Issa Qaraqe’: the prisons’ administration
informed the [Palestinian] prisoners it reneged on a 2012 agreement regarding
the termination of solitary confinement and limitation of administrative
detention.
· “Interior Ministry of Gaza:” presidential guards will be in charge
of running Rafah border crossing.
· Teenager was killed, while four of his family members were injured, in an explosion caused by a gas leak in Beit Hanina, north of Jerusalem.
Al-Hayat
al-Jadida:
· Pope [Francis] makes a stop at the segregation wall, calling to end
the ‘unacceptable situation.’
