BETHLEHEM, January 19, 2013 (WAFA) –
Israeli forces Sunday arrested 13 Palestinians and beat up two teenagers in the
West Bank as well as arrested two others from the Jerusalem area, according to
local and security sources.
They said that forces arrested eight
Palestinians from the Bethlehem area, including two 18-year-olds, after raiding
their homes.
Meanwhile in the Hebron area, forces
arrested two Palestinians and beat up two others ages 15 and 17. They were transferred
to hospital for treatment.
Forces also arrested three Palestinians,
including two in their early twenties, from the Nablus area after raiding and
searching several homes.
In Jerusalem area, Israeli police
arrested two Palestinians, including a 66-year-old released prisoner who was
part of the third group of 26 Palestinian prisoners released after being held
in Israeli jails since the signing of the Oslo accords in 1993.
Israeli police stopped Mahmoud
Daagneh, 66, at Shofat military checkpoint in central Jerusalem, where they
informed him that he has to pay off the tax debt he owes them and handed him a
summon to appear before the Israeli intelligence north of Jerusalem.
Daagneh was detained after he was
interrogated and was informed that he has to pay a bail in order to release him
as well as ordered him to sign a pledge to pay off the accumulated tax debt.
