RAMALLAH, December 16, 2025 (WAFA) – Prisoners’ institutions said on Tuesday that the number of Palestinian detainees and prisoners held in Israeli occupation prisons has reached around 9,300, the majority of whom are detainees and administrative detainees.
In a joint statement, the institutions said the figures are based on data provided by prisoners’ institutions and information released by the Israeli Prison Service up to the beginning of the current month of December, noting that the total does not include detainees held in camps run by the Israeli occupation army.
The statement said that the number of sentenced detainees has reached 1,254, while the number of female detainees has reached 51, including two minors. It added that the number of child detainees has reached 350, held in Ofer and Megiddo prisons, and that the number of administrative detainees has reached 3,350.
It further said that the number of detainees classified as “unlawful combatants” has reached 1,220, noting that this figure does not include all Gaza detainees held in camps run by the Israeli occupation army under this classification.
The statement added that this classification also includes Arab detainees from Lebanon and Syria.
