Minister Assaf dedicates the honor to those killed among the Palestinian people, especially journalists, “knights of truth.”

CAIRO, November 26, 2025 (WAFA) – Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit and Arab information ministers on Wednesday honored Palestinian Minister Ahmed Assaf, General Supervisor of Official Palestinian Media, in recognition of the leading position achieved by official Palestinian media and his contributions to strengthening joint Arab action, particularly in the media field.

The honor was presented during the 55th session of the Council of Arab Information Ministers at the Arab League headquarters, chaired by Syria. Those who took part in the ceremony included Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Kuwait’s Minister of Information and Culture and the Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdulrahman Baddah Al-Mutairi, Syria’s Minister of Information, Hamza Al-Mustafa, and the League's Assistant Secretary-General for Media Affairs, Ambassador Ahmed Khattabi.

He affirmed that efforts will continue to advance the Palestinian media message and strengthen its impact on public opinion.

Assaf stressed that the violations and intimidation targeting Palestinian journalists are part of a systematic policy that began with the Israeli occupation of Palestine. He said that killings, detentions, attacks on media premises, and restrictions on work will not deter Palestinian journalists from fulfilling their national duty toward their people and cause.

He expressed appreciation for all national media institutions, official and private, and their staff in Palestine and abroad, commending their sacrifices and courage despite continued targeting and intimidation.

Assaf thanked the Arab League Secretary-General, Arab ministers, and the league’s media sector for the honor, describing it as a tribute to Palestine, its steadfast people, and those who have been killed, especially journalists.
