RAMALLAH, November 20, 2025 (WAFA) – The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) welcomed the adoption by the United Nations General Assembly of a series of resolutions supporting the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.
In statement issued on Thursday, the OIC affirmed that this broad international consensus embodies the centrality of the Palestinian cause and rejects the policies of Israeli colonial occupation, including annexation, settlement construction, forced displacement, ethnic cleansing, and all other Israeli crimes and violations.
The OIC stressed the paramount importance of the overwhelming adoption of the resolution renewing the mandate of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), which reaffirms the Palestinian refugee issue and their right of return and compensation.
It also emphasized the necessity of continuing UNRWA's mandate and providing it with all forms of financial, political, and legal support, as it embodies the international community's commitment and responsibility towards Palestinian refugees and the protection of their rights.
The organization renewed its call to the international community to continue sponsoring and supporting draft resolutions that affirm and protect the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the relevant United Nations resolutions.
