Jordan strongly denounces inflammatory remarks by Israeli Minister rejecting Palestinian statehood

AMMAN, November 19, 2025 (WAFA) – Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the inflammatory, racist statements made by the extremist Israeli Energy Minister, Eli Cohen, regarding his rejection of the establishment of a  Palestinian state.

The Ministry denounced his desperate attempt to promote illusions that will not undermine Jordan or the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state on Palestinian national soil.

The Ministry's official spokesperson, Fouad al-Majali, affirmed that hostile actions and statements made by ministers in the extremist Israeli government reflect its current predicament and demonstrate a desire to create and exacerbate crises within a climate of impunity fostered by systematic violations of international law, international humanitarian law, the UN Charter, and the sovereignty of states.

He emphasized that the Palestinian state will be established on Palestinian national soil, within the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the two-state solution in accordance with international law.

Al-Majali stressed that the establishment of the Palestinian state on Palestinian national soil is a historical and legal right, unaffected by the worthless and legally inconsequential statements of the Israeli Energy Minister and other extremist Israeli officials who deny the humanity of the Palestinian people and their legitimate right to freedom and an independent, sovereign state.

Al-Majali also emphasized that the absurd delusions of Israeli extremists will not harm Jordan, nor diminish the legitimate and inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.

"These statements will not change the reality of the internationally ostracized Israeli government, nor will they affect the growing international support for the two-state solution and the rights of the Palestinian people," al-Majali affirmed.

He called on the international community to take a clear stance condemning these statements and all inflammatory and racist Israeli actions, which exist only in the minds of extremists and threaten regional and international peace and security.
