NEW YORK, November 4, 2025 (WAFA) – The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) said that 14 million school-aged children in Sudan are out of school.
In a report, UNICEF indicated that the education crisis in Sudan remains severe, with an estimated 14 million out of 17 million school-aged children not attending school, particularly in Darfur and Kordofan.
The organization emphasized that 62% of its $1 billion response plan remains unfunded. This funding is needed to provide assistance in child protection, education, health, nutrition, water, sanitation, and cash assistance.
It plans to support 13.1 million people, including 8.7 million children.The report also noted that Sudan is facing disease outbreaks, food insecurity, and widespread flooding.
