France calls on Israel to remove obstacles to humanitarian aid delivery in Gaza and the West Bank

PARIS, October 23, 2025 (WAFA) – France has urged Israel to remove all obstacles preventing the broad and unhindered delivery and distribution of humanitarian aid, ensuring that Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank have access to essential goods and services needed for daily life.

In a statement issued by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Paris said it had taken note of the advisory opinion issued by the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which reaffirmed Israel’s obligation to facilitate humanitarian access to Gaza and to cooperate with the United Nations in Palestine.

The ministry reiterated France’s full commitment to international law and to the fundamental role of the ICJ as the principal judicial body of the United Nations.

France renewed its call on Israel to meet its obligations under international humanitarian law, as confirmed by the Court, and to remove all barriers impeding access to essential supplies such as water, food, shelter, and medical aid.

The French government also urged Israel to cooperate with the United Nations and its agencies, including the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), stressing the importance of the full implementation of all provisions of the ceasefire agreement—particularly its humanitarian components—to meet the urgent needs of the population in Gaza.
