GAZA, October 16, 2025 (WAFA) – Gaza Water Authority crews continue urgent relief operations to provide water to Palestinians returning to their homes in the southern city of Khan Yunis.
The Authority said in a statement, said its technical teams are distributing limited quantities of water via tankers as part of an emergency response plan aimed at meeting the basic needs of residents after the massive destruction of water networks led to a complete interruption of drinking water in the city.
It also affirmed that its efforts continue in cooperation with international organizations, despite significant field challenges and a lack of equipment and technical resources. It noted that the priority at this stage is to ensure access to safe and usable water.
The Water Authority called on the international community and humanitarian organizations to provide the necessary support to accelerate the rehabilitation of water infrastructure in Khan Yunis and other affected areas in the Gaza Strip, warning of a worsening humanitarian crisis if the water shortage continues.
