AMMAN, October 14, 2025 (WAFA) – The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned, in the strongest terms, the incursion of the Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif by extremist Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, and the ongoing incursions by extremists under the protection of the Israeli occupation police.
The Ministry considered this incursion a blatant violation of the legal and historical status quo of the holy site, a desecration of its sanctity, a dangerous and condemnable escalation, and an unacceptable provocation.
It also emphasized that Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied city of Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites.
The Ministry's official spokesperson, Fuad Majali, affirmed the Kingdom's condemnation and strong rejection of the continued, unacceptable incursions by the extremist minister and the Israeli occupation police's facilitation of repeated extremist incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif.
He further considered these incursions a blatant violation of international law and international humanitarian law, and an attempt to impose facts on the ground by forcibly dividing the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif.
Majali warned of the consequences of the continued unacceptable incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque/Haram Al-Sharif by extremists and the Israeli government's extremists.
He called on Israel, as the occupying power, to cease these violations and all provocative practices, which constitute a continuation of the Israeli government's racist policy aimed at continuing its dangerous escalation and its unilateral, illegal, and unlawful measures in the occupied West Bank and violating the sanctity of Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied Jerusalem.
Al-Majali reiterated that the entire area of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which amounts to 144 dunams, is a place of worship exclusively for Muslims, and that the Jerusalem Endowments and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs Department, affiliated with the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, is the legal entity with exclusive jurisdiction to administer the affairs of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque/Haram Al-Sharif and regulate entry to it.
Ben-Gvir led the colonists' incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque on Tuesday, under the protection of the Israeli occupation police.
The raid included colonists touring the Al-Aqsa Mosque courtyards and performing Talmudic rituals in the eastern part of the mosque, under the protection of the occupation police.
