VATICAN CITY, October 12, 2025 (WAFA) – Pope Leo XIV expressed hope that the ceasefire agreement in Gaza will mark the beginning of a path toward a just and lasting peace that respects the aspirations of both the Palestinian and Israeli peoples.
In his address following Sunday prayers, the Pope said that the agreement represents a first step toward peace in the Holy Land, calling on all concerned parties to continue working toward achieving a just and lasting peace that respects the legitimate aspirations of both peoples, after a war that brought death and destruction everywhere.
