BERLIN, October 4, 2025 (WAFA) – A new opinion poll in Germany showed that a majority of respondents favor recognizing the State of Palestine and support the European Union's proposal to suspend trade and customs agreements with Israel.
In a poll conducted by the German public broadcaster ARD, 55% of respondents expressed support for recognizing Palestine, while 20% opposed the move.
Regarding the sanctions the European Union is planning to impose on Israel, 55% of respondents expressed a desire for Germany to support the EU proposal to suspend trade and customs agreements with Israel, while 27% opposed it.
The poll also revealed that 63% of Germans believe that Israel's attacks on Gaza have "gone too far."
