AMMAN, October 2, 2025 (WAFA) – Jordan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the incursions by Israeli colonists into Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem, carried out under the protection of Israeli police, describing them as a blatant violation of the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and its holy sites.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Fuad Al-Majali reiterated the Kingdom's firm rejection and strong condemnation of the ongoing incursions and provocative practices by Israeli colonists, which he said constitute a grave breach of international law and international humanitarian law, and part of Israel's attempts as the occupying power to impose new realities aimed at dividing Al-Aqsa Mosque spatially and temporally.
He called on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities, compel Israel to halt its continuous violations against Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied Jerusalem, its escalating actions in the West Bank, and its ongoing aggression against Gaza, and to uphold the Palestinian people's right to establish an independent state on their national soil while holding perpetrators accountable for their crimes.
Al-Majali further reaffirmed that Al-Aqsa Mosque, with its full area of 144 dunums, is an exclusive place of worship for Muslims, and that the Jerusalem Awqaf and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs Department, affiliated with Jordan's Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs is the sole legal authority responsible for administering all affairs of the Mosque and regulating entry to it.
