Palestine’s UN envoy calls on the world to stand with Palestinians against occupation

NEW YORK, September 29, 2025 (WAFA) – Palestine's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, urged the intentional community on Monday to stand with the Palestinian people in confronting Israeli occupation and daily violations, ensuring a secure and dignified future for all Palestinians.

In his address to the UN Security Council during its monthly session on the Palestinian issue, Mansour added that Palestine appreciates the Secretary-General's continued submission of his quarterly reports pursuant to Security Council Resolution 2334.

He underlined that these reports provide ongoing monitoring of Israeli violations and accurate documentation of events on the ground.

He added while Palestine dose not celebrate these reports. , they are crucial amid the harsh daily reality faced by Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, where children, women, and men are abducted, neighborhoods are reduced to rubble, lives are shattered, lands are stolen, and homes are destroyed.

Mansour described this situation as "the dark reality of life in Palestine under occupation," emphasizing that this daily tragedy is unacceptable and unacceptable.

He explained that attempts to deny Palestinians' rights and their existence on the ground continue, and that these attempts represent a continuous attempt to deny the blood of the Palestinian people and violate their basic human rights.

Mansour said that all peoples are guaranteed inalienable rights, and that the Palestinian people are no less entitled or deserving than any other people in the world. He added that Palestinians have the right to life, freedom, dignity, and security, and that the death, destruction, dispossession, colonialism, despair, and displacement the Palestinian people are suffering from are a direct result of Israeli policies, not an inevitable fate.

He emphasized that this reality can be changed through persistent and continuous work to end the genocide in Palestine and halt the daily violations.

Mansour pointed out that Palestine has chosen peaceful action to confront these violations, emphasizing that the world no longer needs more death and destruction, but rather needs peace that leads to freedom and security for the Palestinian people.

He added that peace must be a common goal that becomes a tangible reality, and that the commitment to peace is not limited to words or statements, but must be translated into daily actions on the ground, especially in the face of ongoing Israeli aggression.

He emphasized that the Palestinian people look forward to the international community assuming its full responsibilities to ensure the protection of civilians, halt ongoing violations, and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

Mansour noted that Palestine appreciates the efforts of the UN member states that convened the international conference and participated in providing political and financial support and commitments to protect Palestinians and stop the massacres. He praised the states that recognized the State of Palestine and the international efforts aimed at promoting the two-state solution and enforcing respect for international law.

He pointed out that the New York Declaration, adopted by 142 countries, is a historic step that constitutes a clear roadmap toward full implementation. It lays the foundations for ending the war against the Palestinian people, achieving an independent and sovereign Palestinian state, and ensuring the implementation of all relevant international resolutions.

Mansour concluded by emphasizing that it is time to move from the text of the New York Declaration to concrete action on the ground—protecting Palestinian civilians, restoring violated rights, halting daily abuses in Gaza and the West Bank, and enforcing Israel's respect for international law, stressing that these efforts represent the surest path to achieving a just and lasting peace in Palestine.
