NEW YORK, September 29, 2025 (WAFA) – The United Nations General Assembly resumed its sixth day of general debates of its 80th session on Monday at UN headquarters in New York, wrapping up discussions that began last Tuesday under the theme: "Better Together: 80 Years and Beyond for Peace, Development, and Human Rights."
Speaking during the debate, Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand Affirmed her country's unwavering support for the Palestinians, calling for the urgent need to open and humanitarian corridors in Gaza to ensure the delivery of aids to civilians.
Anand stressed that "the two-state solution is "being eroded by settlement expansion," emphasizing that Canada's recognition of the State of Palestine last week reflects Ottawa's clear policy of upholding the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and achieving a future where Palestinians and Israelis live side by side in security and peace.
She further underlined Canada's support for regional efforts amid at securing a ceasefire and contributing to international efforts to end the war, stressing that her country's commitment to strengthen the capabilities of the Palestinian Authority in cooperation with regional partners.
