RAMALLAH, September 24, 2025 (WAFA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Varsen Aghabekian Shahin held a Zoom meeting today, Wednesday, with the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the occupied Palestinian Territory since 1967, Francesca Albanese.

Shahin expressed her appreciation to the Special Rapporteur for her legally documented efforts and reports, reaffirming the State of Palestine’s full support for her work and independence, especially in the face of sanctions and pressures imposed on her and on the international justice system as a whole.

She stressed the need for the international community to uphold its responsibility in safeguarding the international justice system and ensuring accountability for those who undermine it.

For her part, Albanese commended the efforts of the Palestinian Foreign Ministry in documenting violations and conveying the truth to the world, affirming her commitment to continue fulfilling her mandate and her readiness to cooperate on practical steps that would ensure accountability and justice.
