MoFA welcomes Palestine statehood recognition by Belgium, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, and Andorra, calls it "historic step toward peace"

SALFIT, September 23, 2025, WAFA - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomes the recognition of the State of Palestine by Belgium, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, and Andorra, describing it as a historic and principled step that upholds international law and United Nations resolutions.

It said in a statement that these recognitions represent an important contribution to advancing peace efforts and realizing the two-state solution.

"The Ministry expresses its deep gratitude to these countries, their leaders, governments, and peoples, and reaffirms the State of Palestine’s commitment to strengthening and expanding bilateral relations with them and to deepening coordination across all fields."

"The Ministry also calls upon countries that have not yet recognized the State of Palestine to take this principled step as a means of safeguarding the two-state solution. It urges them to play an active role in international efforts to bring about an immediate end to the ongoing genocidal war, protect civilians, and launch a credible political process that will end the occupation," thr statement said.

"Such efforts are essential to enable the Palestinian people to exercise their inalienable right to self-determination, in accordance with the New York Declaration, the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, and international law; thereby paving the way for security, stability, and prosperity for all the states and peoples of the region," it added.
