GENEVA, September 18, 2025 (WAFA) – The World Health Organization (WHO) warned that Gaza's already overstretched hospitals are on the brink of collapse due to the expansion of the Israeli ground offensive in the northern Gaza Strip, calling for an end to these inhumane conditions.

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said in a post on X on Thursday that "the military incursion and evacuation orders in northern Gaza are leading to new waves of displacement, pushing families already suffering from psychological trauma towards an increasingly shrinking area that is inconsistent with human dignity."

He warned that "hospitals, already overstretched, are on the brink of collapse, as escalating violence impedes access and prevents WHO from delivering vital equipment.
